5/25/12

nitric and sulfuric are the main gasses. Rotting vegetation and erupting volcanoes are where most of the acids come from. Well acid rain is acid is can burn threw most anything. It can destroy a lot more then what you think.

Fracking

Hydraulic fracturing is the process of drilling for natural gas and oil underneath the ground. Water mixed with other components is pumped into the ground to create cracks to release the gas into wells that have been built for collection.

Flood controlers

I think its a bad thing that they try to control the flood because, one it can cost a lot of money. Sometimes it cant work. Like when the Mississippi river flooded they made levees to keep that from helping but the levees broke. Then we had to pay a lot of money to fix them. Yes I do admit that it can be a good idea sometimes but not all the time. I think its just better if we find a diferent way to keep it from flooding or just let it flood. Because the levees/walls are not the smartest idea. Another way they control flooding is by floodgates. In floodgates they used to divert water around areas with high value instead going to the ocean directly. This is not the smartest idea because the river or places there putting the extra water could over flow. Then they would have to build somewhere eles to put that water. So in conclusion no matter what you do with the water or where you put it could just back fire. If it dose back fire then what? You will have to find another way to fix it. This could be a smart idea but it also could just be a night mare. You don't want to spend a bunch of money to have it not work right? You can't just test run something like this. I guess you just have to take a risk on it. Im 50/50 on this so I really don't know where I stand on this topic.

1/10/12

Saudi Arabia has spent $100 million to lease land in Ethiopia to raise wheat, barley and rice.
South Korea has signed deals for 690,000 hectares

That is to much money to be spending on soil witch is just dirt. I mean yes we do need wheat and rice but you can just trade stuff to get it. You don't have to spend a whole bunch of money on dirt.

coal

The cause of the explosions is because the air builds up in the mine and when they drill into it it just exploded. The chines had more of a ceramoney then we did for there lost family members. There conditions are worse of there though because we have the more high tec stuff then they do. We can go down into mines and say we have everything we need but they cant because they are still developing there equipment

Deepwater Horizon disaster

I don't think that just one person is to blame in this disaster.  But if I had to pick one person it would have to be us. We are the consumers here and we just take and take. If we hadn't been so greedy maybe the oil tank would have been build stronger and better. I think that if we wouldn't abuse this resource none of this would happen. I don't know how to justify this. Not just one person is to blame but we can't punish the whole world for this mess up.
